What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractors use gentle force to the joints to restore proper alignment and improve mechanics and function of the spinal joints and joints of the arms and legs. Every joint also has a corresponding nerve. By improving joint alignment nervous system function is also improved. This allows the body to better perform its natural healing processes. A healthier spine means a healthier you.
Do you take my insurance?
We are in network with most insurance plans. With the large number of different plans and policies it is impossible to quote your benefits without verifying your information with your insurance company. We would be happy to verify your coverage for you. Our trained staff will verify your benefits and cover in detail any expenses you may incur.
How long will the appointment take?
Most new patients are able to be scheduled that same day. You should allow for 20-30 minutes for your initial paperwork. However, please utilize the new patient tab on this site to fill out all paperwork prior to your appointment and arrive just a few minutes before your scheduled time. This will expedite your first visit.
What happens during an exam?
The doctor will review your paperwork. Then, take a complete history of your complaints. Once a thorough history has been taken the doctor will perform all of the necessary orthopedic/ neurological exams to correctly diagnose your condition. An x-ray may be taken if the exam warrants necessity. This is then followed by a complete and comprehensive report of the doctors finding including treatment options.
What is Dr. Thomas' training?
Dr. Thomas has a Bachelors Degree in Human Biology as well as a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. In addition the doctor has 150 hours of post graduate training in clinical nutrition. The doctor is also required to obtain 32 hours of post graduate course work bi- annually.
Is chiropractic care the right choice?
A recent federal study by the Agency for Health Care Policy & Research concluded that spinal manipulation was one of the preferred early treatments for LBP. Doctors may refer patients to chiropractors or work in conjunction with a chiropractic practitioner to give patients optimal care. Many insurance companies cover chiropractic care, and hospitals are offering access and/or staff privileges to chiropractors.
Can you treat my children?
Dr. Thomas routinely treats patients ranging from newborns to patients in the 90’s. Headaches, neck, and upper back pain are becoming more common in our younger generations. This is due to the poor posture resulting from video games, texting, and heavy back packs. We have also treated younger patients for allergies and bed wetting, as well as conditions in infants associated with birth trauma.
